It’s almost Halloween, and that means kids everywhere are anticipating that event they look forward to more than any other all year (well, maybe except Christmas morning): trick or treating! Regardless of your age, you no doubt get into the spirit of the season when you hear an excited bunch of kiddos ringing the doorbell.
Best Halloween Candy
So what are those kids after? Well, according to USA Today, here are the country’s top candy picks:
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
If you’ve got those delicious peanut butter pumpkins in your Halloween bowl (or your collection bag), you’re not alone; this is the country’s most popular Halloween candy. In fact, in 2013, Americans bought nearly 510 million dollars worth of these delicious peanut butter cups.
Easy to eat and oh so sweet! M&Ms trail Reese’s just slightly in terms of popularity, but some years this candy takes the cake when it comes to Halloween sales. Available in special fall-esque colors and a variety of flavors (plain, peanut, peanut butter, crispy, pretzel, dark… need we go on?), there’s an M&M for everyone.
When they say “you’re not yourself” without a Snickers, that’s pretty true on Halloween, too. We’re guessing you’ll wind up with more than a few of these chocolate-peanut-caramel yummies in your bag.
There’s not a candy much more classic than a Hershey’s chocolate bar. After all, who doesn’t love a piece of plain milk chocolate? We’re pretty sure you’ll wind up with a few of these to spare – or eat in one delicious sitting!
The Kit Kat bar is the caboose of the nation’s five most popular Halloween candies. With a delicious chocolate coating and crispy cookie inside, the Kit Kat is pretty hard to beat – and oh so sharable (not that you’ll want to share).
Your turn: what candy do you hope you’ll find in your bag?
