It’s almost Labor Day weekend and that means summer is “unofficially” over. But before you get too blue, just think of the fun you can have in one long weekend. If you’re sticking around town, try doing something you’ve never done before – we’ve got a few suggestions.
Have a Clambake
Okay, so you don’t live in New England, but there’s no reason you can’t spend the last days of summer enjoying your very own clambake! Instead of digging a pit at the beach, try cooking your shellfish on the grill or in a big pot.
Visit a Weird Museum
Really, find the weirdest one you can find. You’ll be surprised what kinds of things some people think are museum-worthy. Be sure to share your experiences on Facebook and Instagram!
Build a Treehouse
Before you start thinking this is juvenile, think of how awesome you could make your treehouse; we’re thinking more fortress than fort!
Hit the Drive-In
Back in the day…. Okay, we won’t go there. But drive-in movie theaters definitely still have their appeal. And the more people you can cram in that car, the more fun it’s going to be.
Raid Every Donut Shop in Town
Long weekends are perfect for donuts; by why stop with one? Drive around and sample a donut at every shop you can find. You can work it off later.
Laser it Up
Of course, Las Vegas laser tag – at Warehouse Wars – is an awesome “standby.” Plus, we’ve got air conditioning and pizza. Enough said.
Has anyone ever really done this? We’re not sure. Start a trend now (hey, it’s a good way to entertain yourself if you have to attend a boring family barbecue.).
Make Homemade Bread
It gives you a sense of accomplishment and it will totally weird your mother out. Trust us.
Comb Craigslist for free events. Then attend them. Hey, how bad could they be?
Start a Blog
About, well, anything. You never know how creative you can be until you sit down and try one day (and if you do this one, you’d better post a link below!).
Okay your turn: how are you spending Labor Day?
